Erik is the oldest of the five, was raised by his mother and stepfather in New York. Erik has always held a strong bond with his grandmother, whom he looks strongly up to. Though he was raised by his mother, he is extremely proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. Erik studied voice for four years of his life. As many have noticed, Erik is the most energetic of the group, and spills out his heart when he sings. Erik's given most of the high spots in the songs, and he deserves them so much. Displayed on the first season on Making the Band was Erik's strong attitude if people judge him, but he says, "I'm not always like that, it just fit the show"
