Hey Guys! This is a letter from Dan.. Thanks To DCrew! Also I agree with Dan 100%.. Read on!
Dan called his mom yesterday and dictated this letter to her with the request that we post this here and at some other sites and clubs. This letter is not in response to anything Dan saw posted here. He just knew that he could reach many of his fans here. I think he and his mom also know that fans will believe this is actually a letter from Dan when they see it posted here.
I know how loving, supportive and respectful our fans are and I'm sure we will all do as he requests. I think many fans post at sites, message boards and clubs and never imagine that the boys, their friends and family would read what is posted there. Believe me, it can happen.
For myself, I make it a rule that I won't write anything that I would be ashamed to say to them if I were right before them and looking straight into their eyes. Or... if they were standing before me and asking me about the words I posted.
Dear O-Town fans,
Wassup? This is Dan. No, I'm not kidding. The real Dan. This letter comes from my heart and I hope you will take it in the spirit in which it was written.
First of all, I want to thank you all again for your amazing support. Your response to our shows has been overwhelming. Thanks to you, We Fit Together is about to retire on TRL. Thank you for faithfully watching Making the Band and for continuing to support us while we are so far from home for so long. All that means so much to me.
I don't get to visit O-Town sites very often, but I recently visited some and was shocked and appalled by the comments made at SOME sites about my girlfriend Erin.
Due to circumstances, Erin hasn't been seen on MTB, and I tend to keep my personal life private, so I realize you don't know much about her. I'd like to tell you some things about her now.
Erin was my high school sweetheart. We feel blessed to be together again. She is beautiful, inside and out. She is completely supportive of me in all I do. She can't be with me as much as we'd like right now because she is in her final semester of pre-med at a very competitive university.
The false and unkind things said on some of these sites make me very sad because Erin is an incredibly nice person who has done nothing to deserve this. I am madly in love with her, and what hurts her hurts me as well.
The O-Town fans I know are some of the kindest, most supportive people ever. The people who say these thoughtless things are not the fans I know. But they give everyone a bad name.
I'm writing this to ask the O-Town fans I know and love to continue your amazing support of us. I'm also asking that you treat Erin, as well as the other guys' girlfriends, with the same kindness and consideration that you've always shown to me. If you're saying these things, please stop. Even if you aren't saying these things, you can help me by doing all you can to put a stop to it. Please remember that the things posted on these sites are seen by many people; and the untrue and unkind ones really hurt.
Thanks very much for your understanding and, once again, for all of the incredible support you continue to give us. We love you all.

O-TOWN DEBUTS NEW SONG ON EUROPEAN TOUR!

The boys are debuting a new song called The American Game on the European tour and have already performed it in the UK, which apparently has to do with Sept. 11. The song was co-written by Jacob and Dan, who share lead vocals and both play guitar on it. Perhaps this will be the single Jacob was referring to in an interview here back in November when he said they wanted to get something from the new album out by April. If they're already playing it on the European tour, this seems like a reasonable assumption, although the ultimate vote will of course be Clive Davis'. I'm loving the fact that this song is more rock-sounding and harder-edged and that Jake and Dan wrote it, and Dan gets to play guitar (awww...he's been working so hard at it too). I think we're gonna be absolutely blown away by this album - just wish we didn't have to wait so darn long for it!!

Jacob and Dan wrote it and it is fantastic! It is slightly rocky with a love should be a crime vibe going to it but its so good, we should all leave messages on here saying that we want it on the new album
O-Town smacked it!
I just have to say that i was totally blown away by OTown. Whoever "labled" them as pop stars needs to go to a gig, they're definitely a live rock band and I had my butt well and truly kicked by the boys last night.

MTB 3 IN CANADA!
Looks like Canadian will get a bit dissapointed here, Thanks to NorthOfOtown.Com who informed us that MTV Canada will NOT be airing this season this Saturday, Here's what they said:
Hi Everyone!
I spoke with a Communications Representative from MTV on the phone
today and she gave me the following information.
This information is confirmed and accurate.
As of now, MTV Canada will NOT be airing "Making The Band, Season
Three." They are, however, trying to get the rights to air the show
so there is still a good possibility that they will be airing it in
the future. They will post any news on their website and of course,
we at NOT will continue to look into this story and keep you updated.
So, "Making The Band" will NOT air on MTV Canada this Saturday.
The representative that I spoke with has ensured me that they are
trying to get the show because they have received so many emails and
calls. No need to email MTV Canada and ask them as they have already
made airing MTB3 a priority on their to-do list.
Also..No plans for MUCHMUSIC, to air it either, They e-mailed us saying this:
Unfortunately we will not be picking up Making the Band. We already
have
two teen-oriented series on MuchMusic right now (2gether and S Club 7),
and
we don't want to add another one at this time.
Sorry to disappoint you.

Q: What are some of the storylines the show will follow?
A: Listen closely because this is all exclusive! A little bird told us that we'll be seeing a lot of stuff about Ashley's pursuit of an acting career, Trevor's crush on the very taken Britney Spears, trips to Germany and Mexico (where Jacob's connection to the late Mother Teresa is revealed), the making ot O-Town's second ("rockier, edgier...like 'Girl' and 'Love Should Be a Crime'") album and *lots* of filmed segments with the guys' moms and dads!

Q: Now that the show is on MTV, the guys told us exclusively to watch for a whole different side of their personalities to be shown. Perhaps the side ABC took such pains to hide???
A: "It won't be a bad side!" Dan exclaims. "None of us are that bad. There's just a certain side that's gonna be shown now--going on tour, writing. I think that's gonna be the coolest thing for everybody to see, all the writing that's going into our new album by us. You thought you knew everything about us, but you really didn't know as much as you thought!"

Q: Will Shelli be on the third season?
A: "I don't know," Ashley tries to tell us at first. But when we ask if that means she isn't around at all or she is *possibly* around, he melts. "It is possible. She designed some stuff that I'm wearing in the Britney shows and she's always makin' stuff for me, so it's a possibility that she might be on collaborating with me on some stagewear."

Q: Is the show real? Or fake? What percentage is altered by the way it's filmed?
A: Dan thinks up to 100% of the show is altered by the order in which scenes are aired, but doesn't think that means the show is fake. "The timeline is severely altered already so all the events will lead up to something and you don't always see somebody's side of the story. Every episode has to have a beginning and an end and if somebody's point of view doesn't fit into a storyline the TV show is making, it doesn't get shown on TV and people don't get the 'real' story." Still, the guys say nothing is set up and that you'll find a lot of really shocking insights into their lives this season!

Q: If they've changed so much, do the guys even *like* the old episodes?
A: "Oh, gosh, we look so stupid," Erik-Michael groans. "We're not going to look as foolish, I hope, this season. We've really grown up a lot because our career has gone in so many different directions. We're glad the first years are over."

Ashley's dog Chang was put to sleep, and this is what Ashley and Erik had to say about it:
"Actually, my dog just got put to sleep yesterday, and last night I had a dream that I went home and told my dog everything I didn’t get to say.” His band mates’ stare at him in shock has Erik cuts in, “What? I know I said that *Making The Band* will be back, but last night on MTV, O-Town announced themselves (I believe it was Trevor who said it) that it will be back on January 19. Doesn't Trevor look very nice! Erik looked nice, but he needs a little bit more hair, don't you guys think! Well, I need to remind you guys to please stop emailing us asking us if we are O-Town, and if we know them (we wish we did)! But, we're sorry, we don't know them,their crew, or their management, and we cannot tell them you said Hello. Also, we are NOT O-Town, just fans! I've been getting emails asking to say Hello, and asking if I was them. If this continues, we might have to put a disclaimer on the splash page.

O-TOWNS CAMEO IN LONGSHOT!

erik is channel surfing, and comes across the infomercial for Longshot. he calls ash into the room, and they start making fun of the people. the funny thing is, the people doing the infomercial, are ash and erik, but they're pretending like it's not them. does that make sense? like, ash and erik made the infomercial for the movie, but in the movie, they don't know who the people who are doing the mercial are. then, trev, jacob, and dan come in the room. trevor says the infomercial isn't that bad, and jacob is like, "only you would say that! i bet you would even order it" so then a mail person comes to the door, and says she has a package for Trevor. I bet you can guess what it is. LONGSHOT! LOL. so then the guys say, "oh, let's watch this, see what it's about" and so then the movie comes on. the actual movie.
here is the end: the guys are like "oh, that wasn't so bad" and then one of them cimplains that they weren't in the movie. then someone else mentions something about making their own movie. and i think jacob says "what would it be about?" then all the guys go into a lil hissy fit about what it would be about. then they all leave the room, exept dan. then he looks into the camera and say , "why not?"

From "New York" magazine Dec 24-31: (Intelligencer): "O-Town, the J Records boy band made famous on the Making of the Band television series, is used to being chased by awstruck fans. But it was O-Town's Trevor Penick doing the chasing recently-after his idol, Will Smith. While riding in a limo to a Planet Hollywood luncheon honoring New York city police officers, Penick heard that Smith was on his way out of the party. The driver raced through traffic, arriving just in time for Penick to meet Smith. Smith's assistant then invited Penick to Sony honcho Howard Stringer's VIP screening of Ali that night. Penick re-jiggered interviews he had scheduled in order to attend the screening but never asked where it was being held. After many frantic phone calls to Sony staff, Penick found out where it was (Sony Lincoln Square) and was able to get to the theater shortly before the film started. But he and fellow O-Towner Ashley Parker Angel were turned away because their names weren't on the list. Fortunately, as Penick and Angel were about to head back to their hotel, Smith's assistant saw them and pulled them into the theater as the lights were going down. We're happy to report that they had no problem getting into Stringer's after-party at Tavern on the Green."

Here in the U.S. O-Town is number 9 on MTV's top 20 of 2001!I was just sitting here adding a new fan fic, when I heard the end of Liquid Dreams. ANOTHER MESSAGE FROM O-TOWN!
DEAR O-TOWN STREET TEAM-
NUMBER TWO ON TRL!!!...let us say that one more time....NUMBER TWO
ON TRL!!!! Is this an early Christmas present? Did you guys recruit
Santa and his elves to the OTOWN street team? Because the voting has
gone off the hook...We heard today we were # 2 as we landed in NYC to
perform at the Z100 Jingle Ball and in between checking in to our
hotel and being followed by the cameras for Making The Band we had to
write in again.
All of us were talking about ya'll (the accent from Missouri just
stuck....maybe it's the jet lag) and we had some ideas that we wanted
to share with you for making the OTOWN STREET TEAM even better...(as
if you all haven't already made it the best street team out
there).....What we mean by "better" is... you know our fans mean
everything to us so we wanted to create even more opportunities to
get closer to you guys. We want the OTOWN STREET TEAM to be the
closest and most informed group of fans out there...a
connection that we can use to talk back and forth, share information
that is not available to anyone else and answer your personal
questions directly. We look at everything you have done PERSONALLY
for this street team and we ARE SO IMPRESSED we are moved to work
with you to create THE BEST STREET TEAM in the inter-galactic
universe..(ok that last part was a stretch but you get the point)
